Brandon Helm – From College to Career Success

Blog

Brandon Helm has been a member of Warren Management’s Leadership Team for over 10 years, serving as Vice President of Operations. Not only has his personal interest in technology been a substantial benefit to our company and communities over the years, but he also serves as Chair to the Colorado Legislative Action Committee on behalf CAI National.  A family man, people-person, teacher, presenter, and an all-around asset to our team, we are proud to share the story of how Brandon came to be a part of the Warren Management family.

After he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Brandon Helm found his way into the Community Association Management field as a “left turn” to the HR world he had set his sights on throughout college.  With a job offer from Warren Management Group looking to be his best after-college opportunity, he joined the team having no specialized training in a little-known industry.  CEO Linda Warren recalls having “thrown him into the fire” so to speak, getting him immediately involved with clients while teaching him about the industry.

Brandon was eager to learn, earning one industry credential after another over the next few years.  By 2008, he was the recipient of the industry’s highest credential, the Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM®).  It was evident early on that Brandon was destined for a successful career in community association management, and headed for accomplishments that he could only imagine.

After a couple years as a portfolio manager, Brandon earned the opportunity to manage Nor’wood’s premier community referred to as Wolf Ranch.  This community was unlike any master-planned development of Nor’wood’s in the past,  including a community council for community activities, a metro district for common area and recreation facility maintenance, and an Owners’ Association for governance and sense of community.  By 2018, the community has grown to just under 2,000 households; Wolf Lake has become a reality and the elementary school opened for the 2018-19 school year while neighborhood after neighborhood continues to be built and chosen by scrutinizing homebuyers.  Brandon is now the General Manager of Wolf Ranch Owners’ Association, having two other managers serving neighborhood associations within the community.  Wolf Ranch will eventually grow to approximately 7,000 households, literally a community within the Colorado Springs community.

Brandon’s influence is greater than at Wolf Ranch, however.  He has managed the Briargate Business Campus Owners’ Association for many years, giving solid guidance to the business owners within this premier business community.  Having the insight to work with impacts at a commercial level is beyond the scope of most community association managers that deal solely with residential communities, but not Brandon.  He has stood before the Planning Commission on behalf of Campus Owners and negotiated with parties having nationwide business interests.  Brandon has also pursued the most up-to-date technology to manage the landscape of the Campus in a pristine manner while utilizing water-saving resources.

When not at work, Brandon enjoys the game of golf, but he doesn’t call himself a golfer.  He enjoys all kinds of sports with his son Max, especially the Colorado Rockies (never missing opening day) and the Denver Broncos, although he’s not shy about taking in a CC hockey game or some Air Force basketball.  He and his wife, Kelly, officiated high school basketball when they were first married.  No wonder he’s taught his son to enjoy all types of sports too! They enjoy them together. Brandon is a valuable addition to the Warren Management team and we are honored to share his story with you.
